Now, as a mother in recovery pursuing a degree in Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counseling, Xianna is dedicated to helping others find their path to healing. Xianna believes in the principle, "In order to keep what you have, you must give it away," in which she strives to maintain her sobriety by aiding her community in overcoming the challenges of addiction.

Mai is a dedicated professional in business and leadership. With a Bachelor of Science in Business, Mai has worked in various roles, spending the last 14 years in upper management. Mai combines a strong educational foundation with practical experience to drive impactful results in leadership and organizational growth.

Khou Vang is a person in long-term recovery from substance abuse and mental health disorder. Khou is currently employed as an ARMHS Mental Health Practitioner at MN Community Care and as an Alcohol- Drug Counselor (ADC) Intern with MN Adult & Teen Challenge. He is currently enrolled pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Addiction Counseling.

Since 2021, he has been credentialed as both a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Reciprocal (C.P.R.S.R.) and a Certified Mental Health Peer Specialist (C.P.S.). Khou has contributed as a board member with Wellness in the Woods and as a member of its Cultural Advisory Council. He is deeply passionate about serving the recovery community and is a strong advocate for culturally responsive programs.

Xai's roots lie in the vibrant Hmong community. Xai is a son, uncle, and brother to 9 siblings. Mother is Tooj and father is Paj Txoo. They hold a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from St. Cloud State University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Columbia University. Xai has 25+ houseplants and enjoys biking and checking off his (never-ending) Wanderlust.

She is accredited by the State of Minnesota in Cultural Competency, Harm Reduction, Compassion Fatigue, and Intercultural Development Inventory, and is a Minnesota Certification Board traine

She is a woman in long-term recovery for 24 years and draws on her personal experience to inspire and support the recovery community.

A Peer Advisory Council is a group of people who have personal experience with addiction and recovery. They come together to give advice, share ideas, get communities feedback and help guide Koom Recovery Mission and vision. Their lived experience helps make sure recovery services are helpful, respectful, and meet the real needs of the community.

John is a certified peer recovery specialist (CPRS), who has lived in experience and is a person in long-term recovery. He is also a justice impacted individual, who has overcome many obstacles. He has changed his life by helping others and sharing his story for inspiration. John serves as Koom Recovery's PACT team leader, which helps with outreach and community engagement.
